Case notes from the segment map
The engagements below are anonymised and illustrative composites drawn from typical project scope, written to show how the work actually moves — not verified client results. Names, sectors and figures have been altered or generalised throughout.
The wrong job title, found in week two
A regional logistics scale-up had run six months of campaigns aimed at procurement leads, with flat reply rates and a lot of unread email. An audience research and insight sprint, including sales-call listening and a short round of buyer interviews, showed the actual champion was almost always an operations manager brought in after procurement had already stalled the deal. We rebuilt the segment map around that finding, retagged the offer, and rewrote the opening line of every sequence to speak to a scheduling headache rather than a purchasing process. Reply-worthy language for the wrong reader is still the wrong reader — this was a case of aiming AI-assisted campaigns at a completely different person.
One broad persona, three real segments
A fintech SME had a single "finance decision-maker" persona covering everyone from solo bookkeepers to CFOs at fifty-person firms. AI-assisted brand research across public reviews and support tickets, cross-checked by a strategist, surfaced three genuinely distinct segments with different objections and different buying speed. We split the demand generation programme into three lifecycle messaging tracks, each with its own offer framing, and moved AI ad concepts testing to run per segment rather than as one shared creative pool. Campaign testing across the split showed each track needed a different proof point — a pattern the single persona had been hiding.
A messaging architecture that survived a rebrand
An enterprise client mid-rebrand needed a messaging architecture that could hold up regardless of which visual identity direction won internally. We anchored the work in audience research and segment-specific offer framing rather than brand voice alone, so the underlying messaging survived largely intact through two rounds of brand identity changes — a useful outcome when creative direction is still being argued over upstairs. A light marketing automation setup, drafted with generative AI and reviewed by a strategist, kept the interim lifecycle emails on-brand while the visual identity work continued.
A retainer built on a quieter segment
A distributor serving several ASEAN markets assumed its highest-value segment was also its loudest. An audience analytics retainer, running monthly campaign testing and AI analytics review, found a smaller, quieter segment with a far higher close rate. The marketing retainer shifted budget toward that segment's channels, with editorial direction adjusted to match a more technical, less promotional tone.

Any figures, industries or timelines have been generalised or altered. AI audience insights and AI-assisted creative work can inform and improve campaign performance, but outcomes always depend on market conditions, budget, creative execution, platform behaviour, seasonality and the audience itself — none of which we control or guarantee. AI tools support human strategists throughout; they do not replace strategic, brand or legal judgement.
